The Armenian National Assembly has approved a draft of constitutional reforms by a majority of votes, Novosti Armenia reported.

The Armenian National Assembly has approved a draft of constitutional reforms by a majority of votes, Novosti Armenia reported.

Among 121 MPs, some 104 MPs voted for, 10 against and 3 abstained.

The faction of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, members of the Prosperous Armenia party Dashnaktsutyun, voted for the draft.

The factions of the Armenian National Congress and Heritage voted against the draft.

After the voting, the head of the parliamentary faction of Heritage party Zaruhi Postanjyan tried to express disagreement with its results.

The draft of constitutional reforms will be put to a referendum.
