Petersburg businessman of Georgian origin, Alexander Ebralidze, chooses a new strategy for joining Georgian politics. He decided not to establish his party at this stage, but will continue consultations with the Georgian opposition. Ebralidze made such a statement today in St. Petersburg, where the World Congress of Georgians was held.

"This year we should start political activity in Georgia, but it will not be entering by the new union or political party. In my opinion, the creation of a new party would split the Georgian opposition. Today we have heard several proposals from the Georgian politicians, and after discussing them , we will support. We declare that the main thing for Georgia is election technologies. A proposal to establish an international observer group was expressed at this forum. We will take part in presidential elections in Georgia. However, we are ready to support any political party or leader who will provide an acceptable program for us", Alexander Ebralidze said.

He also proposed to create a special commission, together with the Ossetians and Abkhazians, which will begin a direct dialogue with them.

Georgian businessman in exile Bondo Shalikiani attended the congress. He said that he can not tolerate Saakashvili and his rule. According to him, Ebralidze has serious political and economic program, which he supports.

The idea about neutrality of Georgia was rather popular at the forum. This idea was lobbied by academician Elizbar Javelidze.

"We need neutrality. We must convince the Georgians that the fate of Georgia is not solved in Russia and the U.S, but in Georgia itself," he said.

Leaders of the National Council attended the Congress. One of the leaders of the Georgian Conservative Party Kakha Kukava said that the Conservatives will cooperate with all forces, whose objectives coincide with their objectives.

"Restoring of Georgia's territorial integrity and trade relations with Russia are two most important priority for us. If the plans of our new partners and colleagues coincide with our plans, we will cooperate with them. We are ready to cooperate with the Georgian diaspora in Russia, which has rich political and public potential, " Kukava said.
