The Bulgarian president intends paying an official visit to Georgia soon. According to the Georgian presidential administration, Rosen Plevneliev made this statement at a meeting with his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Saakashvili during the NATO summit in Chicago.
Plevneliev stressed that his country supports Georgia's territorial integrity and welcomes all efforts of the authorities for democratic reforms.
"Great friendship and common interests bond us with Georgia. I soon will visit Tbilisi, but also I expect the Georgian president to visit Sofia as a special guest," he said, stressing that Bulgaria supports Georgia's aspiration for NATO and the EU.
Plevneliev stressed that the next NATO summit will be an enlarged one and Georgia, "deserves to become a NATO member".
