The Georgian president and the government must work together to continue the policy of integration into NATO, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said today while introducing a new head of the Joint Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Col. Irakli Dzneladze, the Georgian presidential administration reported.

Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania has also attended the event.

Saakashvili said that he has constructively exchanged the views on this issue with Defense Minister.

"The Defense Ministry has the same opinion that we must continue moving to NATO", the president said.

According to the president, a summit of NATO new expansion will be held in Chicago in 2014.

He hopes that by the time Georgia will be in a good position to join the next group of NATO expansion.
