Georgia, Tbilisi, 13 Feb. / Trend, N. Kirtskhalia /

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia shares the concerns of the international community, and condemns the nuclear test by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on 12 February 2013, according to a statement of the Ministry.

"This incident is a violation of international obligations by North Korea, including the requirements of the UN Security Council resolutions 1718, 1874 and 2087 not to produce or test nuclear weapons.
These nuclear tests pose a challenge to the global nuclear nonproliferation regime, and pose a serious threat to international security and stability, as well as to peace on the Korean peninsula.

"We call on North Korea to engage in dialogue with the international community, and we hope that the country will take the appropriate measures towards the implementation of the international commitments and relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council," the Foreign Ministry stated.
