Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili links yesterday beating of two deputies from minority in Tbilisi restaurant to the "syndrome of impunity." Everyone is amnestied in Georgia, the number of prisoners is reduced by half, and as a result there are new violent crimes appeared, said Saakashvili on Sunday in Poti.

"For example in Gurdjaani there is an amnestied man who raped a 10-year-old boy. I vetoed the law on amnesty so that pedophiles would not be able to come out of prison," he stressed.

The president placed the responsibility on the deputies who voted for overcoming his veto, which led to the increase of crime in the country.

Saakashvili also denied the report that he was in "La Trufe" restaurant where the fight between visitors of the restaurant and the members of "United National Movement" president party occured. "I was at work until late and have not been in any restaurant," he said.
