The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maya Panjikidze made a proposal to postpone the meeting of the country's National Security Council (NSC). It is inappropriate to hold the NSC meeting in the absence of two key ministers, Panjikidze who is on a visit in the United States told journalists.

"I am in the United States, the Minister of Defence is in Brussels and I think that holding the first meeting of the National Security Council after the parliamentary elections in October 2012 in the absence of two ministers is inappropriate," she said.

Panjikidze expressed confidence that her arguments will be accepted and the meeting will be rescheduled for June 10, when she and Defence Minister Irakli Alasania will be in Tbilisi.
