Adjara was left without gas following an accident in the main gas pipeline. As was reported by the Georgian Gas Transportation Company on Monday, the accident occurred as a result of a hurricane in the republic last night. This resulted in the main gas pipeline being damaged at the 44th kilometre section in Guria region.
As a result, gas delivery to Adjara was totally suspended.
According to the report repair work was launched immediately.
However, it wasn't possible to restore the work of the pipeline due to the severe weather conditions.
The company promises to complete the emergency work in two days.
