Georgian Interior Ministry called on the citizens and political parties to report about the violations in the election to the law enforcement agencies.

Interior Ministry spokesperson Nino Giorgobiani said on Sunday that the police will immediately react to any such a fact and take appropriate measures. When coming to the information about the incident in Zemo Ponichala, the police haven't received information about it, she said.

"We will study this issue. If the fact is confirmed, an appropriate reaction will follow. When coming to the general statements of political parties that the police are putting pressure on their supporters, this is false information and an attempt to mislead the public.

Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs once again called upon everyone, including political parties to refrain from provocative statements, not to try to artificially create a tense situation. I underline that the election is being held in calm atmosphere. I reiterate, if any violations are recorded, report about it to the police, and we will react immediately," Nino Giorgobiani said.

Earlier, one of the leaders of the parliamentary minority, a representative of the "United National Movement" Giorgi Vashadze said that activists of the ruling coalition "Georgian Dream" physically assaulted an observer to Zemo Ponichala in the presidential election, which is taking place on October 27.
