Tbilisi, Georgia, Nov. 24

By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend: Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili has been elected chairman of Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party. The participants of the ruling party's congress, held on Nov. 24 in Tbilisi, unanimously supported Garibashvili's appointment to this post.

Georgia's former Prime Minister, Bidzina Ivanishvili officially left the party today. He moves into the public sector.

Georgian Energy and Natural Resources Minister, Kakha Kaladze was elected the party's Secretary General.

The 12 members of the governing body of Political Council were also elected. It should be noted that the number of council members reduced from 21 to 12.

Kakha Kaladze, Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri, National Security Council Secretary Irina Imerlishvili, MPs Giorgi Volski, Manana Kobakhidze, Tamaz Avdaliani, David Saganelidze, Eka Beselia, Irakli Tripolski, Temur Chkuaseli, Irakli Sesiashvili and Armaz Akhvlediani were elected to the political council.
