An overhaul of the military infrastructure was completed in the Second Infantry Brigade of Georgian Armed Forces.
Defence Minister Irakli Alasania examined the work conducted at the Senaki base (Western Georgia), the Georgian Defence Ministry told Trend today.
Some 11 barracks, internal heating and ventilation systems were repaired as part of the first stage of these operations. The sleeping areas, showers, toilets, rooms and corridors were repaired at the barracks.
"The Georgian government is committed to significantly improving our soldiers' conditions," he said. "The quality is a defining factor. Therefore, we are checking the quality of the conducted work. Certain remarks from the management and the servicemen have already been taken into account. I want to promise all servicemen that the task of the Georgian government to create decent living conditions for the soldiers will be accomplished."
Seven facilities and a dining room are also planned to be refurbished at the Senaki base this year.
