Tbilisi, Georgia, Jan.21
By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

Giorgi Badashvili has been appointed Georgia's prosecutor general. The decree about this appointment was signed by Georgian prime minister and the candidature of Badashvili for this post was nominated by Minister of Justice Thea Tsulukiani, the government apparatus told Trend on Jan.21.

Currently, Badashvili is the head of Investigation Department of Georgia's Prosecutor's Office. Prior to this, he held a high post in the financial police of Georgia's Finance Ministry.

Badashvili will replace Zurab Partshaladze in the post of prosecutor general. Partshaladze resigned on Dec.30, 2013 due to the scandal with a criminal record in Germany.
