Regional security issues will be discussed as part of the NATO Military Committee members visit to Georgia, the country's Defence Minister Irakli Alasania told Rustavi -2 TV on Wednesday.

"Of course regional security issues will be discussed during our meetings in terms of ensuring security at the Sochi Olympics," he said.

He stressed that Georgia is ready for this cooperation.

The minister also stressed that the matter will rest around big transit and infrastructure opportunities of Georgia that will allow NATO countries to withdraw their forces from Afghanistan via Georgia and Azerbaijan.

The NATO Military Committee delegation's visit to Georgia will be held on February 11-12.
