Georgian border guards have detained a vessel under the flag of Panama. The ship was illegally sailing in the sea area of the occupied Abkhazia, Georgian Public Broadcaster said on Feb.15.
The border guards escorted the vessel to the port of Poti. The ship's crew is accused of illegally attempting to enter the occupied territory and violation of maritime navigation.
The ship is owned by a Turkish company. The ship's captain is a citizen of Azerbaijan.
It is unknown what sanctions will be imposed against the violators of the law.
The Georgian side hasn't made any official comments yet.
