Elections to self-governing bodies in Georgia will be held on June 15 this year, the Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili said in a speech at parliament on Feb. 21.
"The corresponding decree will be signed soon," the president said.
Margvelashvily positively appreciated the adoption last week of changes to
the Electoral Code which raised the electoral threshold of heads of cities and local governments to 50 percent at the election.
