Georgian and Israeli government officials discussed by phone eliminating the visa regime between the two countries, the Georgian government told Trend on March 14.

Israeli Interior Minister Gideon Saar spoke to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvil about Israel's decision to speed up the introduction of the visa-free regime between the two countries.

"I welcome this decision and thank the Israeli government for this action," Garibashvili said. "I congratulate Georgians and Jews on this important innovation. I am sure that this decision will contribute to the intensification of the relations between Israel and Georgia."
