Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili visited Prague as part of the bilateral political consultations between Foreign Ministries of Georgia and the Czech Republic.

The Czech side was represented at the consultations by the First Deputy Foreign Minister Petr Drulak, Georgian Foreign Ministry told Trend on April 17.

During the visit Beruchashvili met with the Czech Republic's State Secretary for European Affairs Tomas Prouza, State Secretary of Defence Ministry Daniel Kostoval and Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies Ondrej Benesik.

During the meetings the parties underscored a high level of political relations between the two countries. They discussed issues such as cooperation in economy, culture, education and science, and the prospects for deepening bilateral legal framework.

The significance of subsequent intensification of cooperation within international organizations was also discussed.

The parties discussed topical issues regarding Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and the progress achieved in this direction.

The Czech side once again affirmed its support for Georgia's integration into the EU and the signing of association agreement as soon as possible and expressed its support for Georgia's integration into NATO.

The Czech side reiterated its support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
