The Georgian Central Election Commission has started printing the ballots and voter lists on June 9 in preparation for the municipal elections which will be held in the country on June 15, the CEC spokesperson Eka Azarashvili told journalists.

The Georgian Central Election Commission has started printing the ballots and voter lists on June 9 in preparation for the municipal elections which will be held in the country on June 15, the CEC spokesperson Eka Azarashvili told journalists.

In total, 9,611,100 ballots including 748, 500 - in the Azerbaijani and Armenian languages will be published in the country for the municipal elections, she said.

Voting papers are printed in 11 printing offices and supervision of this process is carried out by the CEC and local observers.

In accordance with the Georgian legislature, the printed ballots and special envelopes should be delivered to the polls by 20:00 on June 14.

In total, some 3,429,748 voters have been registered in Georgia according to the Georgian CEC.

Some 2,088 members of 71 sakrebulo (city and district councils), the mayors of 12 cities and 62 heads of local administrations should be elected in the Georgian municipal elections held in the mixed proportional-majoritarian system.
