Georgia's Minister of Agriculture Shalva Pipia has received a representative of the Directorate General for Health and Consumers of the European Commission.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues related to signing the association agreement with the EU, as well as the free trade agreement with this organization, Georgian Ministry of Agriculture told Trend.

"Little time remains until signing the association agreement. I welcome this progress that you have achieved with this respect," the European Commission's representative said.

"Georgian entrepreneurs will face some challenges regarding the production of products meeting European standards. We are ready to render them all possible assistance in this issue," he stressed.

During the meeting, the sides had detailed discussions on the issues that are vital for bringing the Georgian products to the European market and emphasized the importance of training the Georgian specialists working in this sphere.
