Some 20 out of 25 Georgian citizens, evacuated from Iraq during the terror attacks to the Mosul airport have already returned home, while two of them are in Iraq’s migratory service waiting for the court decision.

Some 20 out of 25 Georgian citizens, evacuated from Iraq during the terror attacks to the Mosul airport have already returned home, while two of them are in Iraq's migratory service waiting for the court decision.

As for the remaining three Georgian citizens, the Iraqi court ordered them to pay a fine. But the company that employed them in Iraq has already paid this fine, and they will also return Georgia soon, the acting Georgian Consul to Jordan, Berdia Bekauri told reporters.

"Some 20 citizens have already arrived in Georgia. Two citizens of our country are in Iraq; they have no problems with documents and they are in a safe place waiting for the court's decision," Bekauri said.

He went on to add that another three citizens are in Baghdad and after the problems with their documents are resolved, they will also return the homeland.

Some 25 Georgian citizens were working at the security service of the Mosul airport.
