The ruling Georgian Dream coalition won in the second round of the municipal elections in Georgia, held on July 12, head of the country's Central Election Commission (CEC), Tamar Zhvania said after vote counting in all polling stations.
The following mayoral candidates won in the second round of the elections: David Narmania -Tbilisi, Giorgi Ermakov - Batumi, David Jikia -Rustavi, Platon Kalmahelidze - Telavi, Irakli Kakulia -Poti, Zurab Dzhirkvelishvili - Gori, Avtandil Nemsitsveirdze - Mtskheta and Beglar Sioridze - Ozurgeti.
At the same time, the following candidates for gamgebeli (head of municipality) won in 13 municipalities in the second round of the elections: candidates of the Georgian Dream coalition: Ilia Mzekalashvili - Kvareli, Alexander Shatirishvili - Telavi; Teimuraz Japaridze - Terjola; Jemal Mebuke - Khoni; Sulhan Evgenidze - Kobuleti; Lela Kitesashvili - Tianeti; Beka Baidauri - Akhmeta; Robinson Gvenetadze - Tkibuli; Alexander Grigalava - Martvili; Zaza Urushadze - Lanchkhuti; Besik Buashidze - Khulo; David Oniashvili - Gori; Irakli Gegeshidze - Bagdati from Georgian Dream party (45.12 percent) and Mevlud Kiknavelidze from Georgia's Way party (36.04 percent).
Candidates from the Georgian Dream coalition won in the municipal elections in all regions of the country.
The candidate from the 'Georgian Dream' coalition, David Narmania and the candidate of the oppositional 'United National Movement' party, Nika Melia competed in the second round of elections for the post of Tbilisi mayor.
Narmania and Melia gathered about 46.2 percent and 27.2 percent of votes respectively, in the first round of the municipal elections held on June 15.
