Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili commented on the letter of the U.S. senators who expressed concern over the initiation of a criminal case against Georgia's former President Mikheil Saakashvili.
"We pay great attention to the position of our partners. It is of great importance in terms of continuing Georgia's democratic development. Meanwhile, Georgia's political spectrum guarantees that no facts of political persecution of opponents will be recorded in the country," the head of state stressed.
The letter of the U.S. senators was sent to Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
