Due to the hot weather, Georgian Emergency and Urgent Situations Management Agency has started working in an enhanced mode, the agency head Temur Giorgadze told reporters Aug. 19.
Because of the heat many people go to the Turtle Lake (Kus Tba) and Tbilisi Sea (an artificial lake), and in connection with this the Tbilisi city hall has increased the number of rescue groups.
"We have added both equipment and people, as we are waiting for a large influx of holidaymakers. We will do our best to ensure the safety of citizens," Giorgadze said.
Weather forecasters said that in the next ten days Georgia is expected to face intense heat. Temperatures can exceed 42 degrees.
