Georgia, Central African Republic discuss defense cooperation

Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania paid his first official visit to the Central African Republic. The Georgian delegation also included the Chief of the General Staff of the country's armed forces, Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze and Deputy Defense Minister Varlam Avaliani.

Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania paid his first official visit to the Central African Republic. The Georgian delegation also included the Chief of the General Staff of the country's armed forces, Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze and Deputy Defense Minister Varlam Avaliani.

The members of the Georgian delegation held a meeting with the High Representative of the European forces in the Central African Republic (EUFOR RCA) Brigadier General Thierry Lion as part of a two-day visit, the Georgian Defense Ministry told Trend Aug. 27.

During the meeting, Lion informed the members of the Georgian delegation about the tasks of the EUFOR RCA peacekeeping mission and stressed the importance of Georgian servicemen's participation in the mission.

Moreover, members of the Georgian delegation held a meeting with Defense Minister of the Central African Republic Thomas Theophie Tchimangua and discussed the activity of the peacekeeping mission, as well as the carried operations.
