Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with the French Senators Alain Gournac and Philippe Dallier.

Georgian government's press service said Sept. 18 that the meeting began with a discussion of the situation in the South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

The prime minister thanked the French side for its support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and the policy of non-recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

The main topic of discussion was the fulfilment of commitments undertaken as part of the EU association agreement and the importance of France's support in the implementation of the document.

The emphasis was placed upon boosting trade and economic relations and deepening cooperation between the two countries' legislative authorities.

Gournac and Dallier are members of the France-Caucasus parliamentary friendship group.

The meeting was also attended by the Georgian Parliament's Vice-Speaker Manana Kobakhidze.
