Former First Lady of Georgia Sandra Roelofs has commented on the fact of seizure of property of relatives of the country's former President Mikheil Saakashvili.
"Today we were informed that our property is seized. In the list is also my apartment in Tbilisi where we have lived before Mikheil Saakashvili's presidency and where we returned after October 2013," she wrote on Facebook.
"When I married 20 years ago my father bought an apartment for me in the Perovskaia Street, we sold it for 3 times more and bought another in Saburtalo after which we again sold that and bought the apartment in the Barnov Street. That was back in 2002. For me and my family the fact of its seizure is fully unacceptable!"
The lawyer of the ex-president Otar Kahidze told reporters that Tbilisi City Court seized the property of the former President Mikheil Saakashvili on Sept.19 at the request of the country's Prosecutor's Office.
Moreover, the property of Saakashvili's spouse, as well as his mother and grandmother has also been seized.
