Tbilisi City Court Legal today begins investigation on criminal case within the framework of which the ex-President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili was accused.

Saakashvili is accused of ordering the violent crackdown of the rally November 7, 2007, the activities related to illegal invasion in the Imedi TV company on the same day and misappropriation of property of the tycoon Badri Patarkatsishvili.

In addition to Saakashvili, the charges on the case are also brought against the former Attorney General and former Minister of Justice of Georgia Zurab Adeishvili, ex-Minister of Defense David Kezerashvili, former Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili and former Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava.

The preliminary hearing in city court Sept.17 was attended only by Merabishvili and Ugulava, since the other defendants of the case are living abroad.

Merabishvili was arrested in July 2013 on another case, Ugulava was arrested in July 2014 also on accusation of other illegal actions.
Main Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has adopted a resolution to bring Saakashvili to trial on charges of abuse of office July 28.
