EU, Georgia discuss priorities in bilateral relations

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili met Nov. 6 with the new head of the EU delegation in the country, Janos Herman.

The press service of the Georgian government told Trend that during the meeting the parties discussed the priority issues in relations between Georgia and the EU, as well as the prospects for deepening cooperation.

The Hungarian diplomat Janos Herman, who was appointed head of the EU delegation in Georgia on June 26, took the office on Oct. 8. In this post he replaces the Bulgarian diplomat Philip Dimitrov.

Herman has for about 40 years held various posts in the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.

He served as secretary of state and Hungary's permanent representative to NATO until 2005.

Herman also served as head of the EU delegation in Norway.
