Georgia uses co-op with Israel for strengthening its armed forces

Georgian Defense Minister Mindia Janelidze met with Israeli ambassador to Georgia Yuval Fuchs.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues of Georgia-Israel bilateral cooperation, as well as their development prospects.

"An agreement on the establishment of the Georgian-Israeli working group was reached following the meeting," the Georgian defense ministry told Trend Nov. 12. "This group will work in different areas of bilateral cooperation."

"We discussed the existing cooperation, as well as further priorities," Janelidze told media after a meeting. "Georgia will continue active cooperation with Israel. The specific areas and cooperation platforms will be determined as part of the working group's activity. I am sure that the Georgian Defense Ministry's cooperation with Israel will be successful. This partnership will be used to strengthen the armed forces of Georgia."

Fuchs said that Israel is ready to continue cooperating with Georgia in all directions.

"We attach great importance to the continuation of cooperation," the diplomat said. "I am glad that Janelidze confirmed that the cooperation will continue and be more intense."
