UK to intensify co-op with Georgia

Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Mikheil Janelidze and the country's Deputy Energy Minister Mariam Valishvili met with UK Trade Minister, Lord Ian Livingston in London.

During the meeting, the sides discussed Georgian-UK relations in the sphere of economy, Georgia's integration into the European Union, the ongoing reforms, the opportunities for free trade in increasing and diversification of Georgian export.

It was noted that UK is one of the countries making the largest amounts of investments in Georgia.

During the meeting, Lord Livingston said the UK is interested in intensifying the cooperation with Georgia in the spheres of transport infrastructure, energy and tourism.

The sides also emphasized the need to create direct air service between Georgia and UK and discussed the opening of regional offices of UK companies in Georgia.
