During the session of NATO Parliamentary Assembly held in The Hague, head of the US delegation, Michael Thorner expressed support to Georgia's desire to join the NATO.

"The US fully supports Georgia. I believe that alongside with our bilateral relations, the cooperation within NATO is also of great importance," he said.

"I believe that the statements made at the last NATO summit were positive enough," Thorner said, adding that the US House of Representatives has adopted a resolution on assigning NATO's membership action plan (MAP) to Georgia and intensification of relations with this country.

Georgian delegation is participating at NATO PA session.

MAP is a NATO program of advice, assistance and practical support tailored to the individual needs of countries wishing to join the Alliance. Participation in the MAP does not prejudge any decision by the Alliance on future membership.
