Georgian railway runs smoothly, in terms of both passenger traffic and freight traffic, a statement of Georgian Railway said Nov.26.

The statement said that the strike announced by a part of the workers will not affect the operation of the company.

Earlier, it was reported that the Georgian railwaymen were to announce an indefinite strike on Nov.26. The strike will begin with at 10 a.m. (GMT+4), the railwaymen trade union told reporters.

"This is a small part of the railwaymen, which is dissatisfied with the outcome of negotiations between the trade unions and the administration of the Georgian railway," said a statement. "We believe that there is no problem, since seven of the nine claims of the railwaymen were satisfied."

It is also noted that as of 10.00 a.m. (GMT+4), transportations are carried out without any problems, and problems aren't anticipated in the future.
