A meeting held Dec. 4 in Tbilisi between the NATO secretary general's special representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia, James Appathurai and Georgia's defence minister, Mindia Janelidze, focused on the issue of opening NATO's training center in the country.
During the meeting, Appathurai said this is his second meeting with the new defence minister of Georgia and expressed satisfaction that Georgia's path has not changed.
Janelidze, for his part, said the main discussed at the meeting, concerned the implementation of the NATO package provided for Georgia, the preparation of which will actively involve the NATO secretary general's special representative as well.
The minister expressed hope that the plan, to be implemented by Georgia, will be finally approved at the NATO ministerial meeting.
