Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met Jan. 9 in Riga, Latvia with Federica Mogherini, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

The meeting between Garibashvili and Mogherini was held as part of the international conference titled 'European Year for Development'.

Georgian government's press service told Trend that the main discussion topics included the relations between Georgia and EU, the effective implementation of the action plan on visa liberalization, and the threats faced by Georgia's territorial integrity.

Garibashvili invited the EU high representative to visit Georgia.

He also informed about the reforms, carried out by the authorities with the aim of developing the country's economy and strengthening the democratic institutions.

Garibashvili said at the meeting that Georgia will do everything for Europe to take a concrete step and positively resolve the issue of visa liberalization.

The EU High Representative Mogherini, for her part, expressed hope that in case of a successful implementation of appropriate procedures, Georgia will become a model of success at the Riga summit.

Garibashvili also briefed Mogherini about the start of reformation of the prosecutor's office of Georgia.
