Georgia has everything to prepare for NATO membership, NATO deputy general secretary Alexander Vershbow said in Brussels in an interview with the First Channel of the Georgian Public Broadcaster.

Vershbow is looking forward to his visit to Georgia, scheduled for January 29-30.

"The visit is the best way to assess Georgia's progress as a NATO partner," he said. "The mechanisms were expanded in accordance with the decisions made at the Wales summit. NATO agreed to deliver a substantial package to Georgia."

He said that at present, a working group of NATO experts and advisers is working in Georgia.

"We are working on opening a joint training center," he said. "I hope that the work will complete by late 2015. We will help the Georgian side in opening of a school. We will prepare the foundation and site for holding the joint exercises in the territory of Georgia for NATO member-states and partners."
