Georgia is interested in drawing investments in the construction of new middle-class hotels in the country, the PR Department of the Georgian National Tourism Administration told Trend Feb. 25.
"The investments in tourism are one of the goals of the Georgian Tourism Administration," the administration said. "We welcome such initiatives of the private sector. The investments are required to optimize the hotel fund, tourism infrastructure, construction of new facilities. Currently, the hotels are full of customers in Georgia. So, the investments are required to create the opportunities for middle class tourists."
"Georgia has a huge tourism potential and its use requires the creation of optimal conditions for investments," the administration said.
Around 5.493 million foreign tourists visited Georgia in 2014 or by 2 percent more than in 2013. Georgia plans to attract more tourists in 2015.
