Georgia's President Giorgi Margvelashvili was invited by the Kremlin to visit Moscow on May 9 for the Victory Day celebrations, but he wouldn't go there, Interfax quoted Georgia's Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili as saying on March 19.

"An invitation was received from Moscow, but on May 9, Georgia's president will not attend the meeting," she told reporters.

Georgian president's administration also said that no preparation is held for a meeting between the presidents of Georgia and Russia.

Earlier, it was reported that 26 leaders of foreign countries confirmed their participation in the celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of the Victory in Moscow.

Among them are the presidents of China, India, Republic of South Africa, Vietnam, Mongolia, the leaders of Cuba and North Korea.

Moscow will also be visited by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel on May 10.

The Victory Parade on the Red Square will also be attended by the military men from nine countries.
