The Energy Community Ministerial is set to take place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Oct. 14, said the European Commission’s website.

High on the meeting’s agenda are a debate on several Energy Community Treaty change proposals, adoption of a list of key energy infrastructure projects and the finalization of the accession of Georgia to the Energy Community.

The Energy Community is an international organization which aims to extend the EU’s internal energy market to South Eastern and Eastern Europe.

The Energy Community Treaty was signed in 2006.

Earlier, during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Natig Aliyev, director of the Energy Community Secretariat Janez Kopac said Europe would like to see Azerbaijan among the countries of the EU Energy Community.

Kopac added that the Energy Community is ready to render technical support for Azerbaijan to prepare and improve the legislative basis in the energy efficiency sphere.
