Members of the Kurdistan workers' party (PKK) terrorist group blew up a military vehicle killing three soldiers on Mardin-Diyarbakir highway in the southeastern Turkey, Sabah newspaper reports Oct. 14.

According to the newspaper, the remote-controlled, homemade mine exploded while a military convoy was moving on the road.

Security forces launched an operation to neutralize the terrorists.

Earlier, there were explosions in Hakkari and Van provinces, four and ten servicemen were injured, respectively.

Moreover, there was a rocket attack on Turkey’s Kemer-Antalya highway, running by local fishing companies.

Reportedly, three rockets were fired by the unidentified people from the mountains in the direction of the sea. The rockets hit buildings of a local fish-processing company.

Nobody was injured as a result of the accident.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for more than 30 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.

The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
