Turkish Armed Forces used a strike drone in the province of Hakkari and neutralized six members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorist group, Anadolu Agency reported Oct. 21.
This morning Turkey’s Air Force also bombarded the PKK positions in Hakkari and northern Iraq.
Twelve PKK militants were neutralized in the operation.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for more than 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.
The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
