Turkey’s Gokturk 1 reconnaissance and Earth observation satellite will be launched from Kourou launch site in French Guiana December 5, Anadolu Agency said Dec. 1.
According to the agency, Gokturk 1 will provide the Turkish armed forces with high-resolution images of the Earth surface.
The French-made satellite will transmit more than 60,000 images to the Earth a year.
Italian company Telespazio and French Thales Alenia Space are contractors in the satellite’s construction.
