Cavusoglu: Azerbaijan-Turkey relations flawless

Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 22

Relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan are flawless, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

He made the remarks Feb. 22 in Ankara at the international conference “Khojaly Genocide, Crimes against Humanity, and Terrorism.”

Cooperation between Azerbaijan, Turkey and other regional countries within trilateral formats makes a positive contribution to the stability and development of the South Caucasus and the Caspian region, according to the minister.

“Cooperation within a trilateral format, for example, Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey, Azerbaijan-Turkey-Iran and Turkey-Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan, yields concrete results,” Cavusoglu said. “Turkey wants to work in one more trilateral format – with Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.”

He added that one of the projects implemented jointly by Turkey and Azerbaijan is the construction of the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), via which Azerbaijani gas will be exported to Turkey and further to Europe via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).

Cavusoglu further noted that opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway will be held in the coming months.
