The registration for the Egyptian presidential polls will start on Monday, the Supreme Presidential Election Commission announced on Sunday in a press conference aired on the state TV.
Ex-defense Minister Field Marshal Abdel Fatah al-Sisi announced his intention to run for the president on Wednesday.
Sisi's popularity has mounted after the ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in response to mass protest. He faces no serious competition in the election and is expected to win comfortably.
Besides Sisi, leftist leader Hamdeen Sabahy was the only one who has officially announced intention to run for the presidency.
