The Syrian authorities are fully controlling more than 95 percent of Aleppo’s territory, the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria said, TASS reports.
“Over the past 24 hours, the Syrian government army has liberated another three quarters in the eastern part of Aleppo from terrorists. The Syrian authorities are thus fully controlling over 95 percent of Aleppo’s territory, while the total area of the neighborhoods in the eastern part of the city held by militants does not exceed 10 square kilometers,” the center said.
More than 100,000 civilians, including 40,000 children have left eastern Aleppo assisted by the personnel of the Russian center for reconciliation since the operation to free the city from militants began, according to the center.
“A total of 2,215 militants have laid down weapons and withdrew to areas controlled by the Syrian authorities. In conformity with the Syrian president’s decisions, as many as 2,137 militants have been granted amnesty. The rest are being checked,” the center said.
