The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has no intentions to disarm, Turkish Anadolu agency quoted the head of the political bureau of Hamas Khaled Mashaal as saying on Sept.22.
He said the issue of disarmament of Hamas members will not be discussed during the Palestinian-Israeli talks that will start on Sept.23 in Cairo with the mediation of Egypt.
Previously, Mashaal said Hamas does not intend to disarm until Israel liberates occupied Palestinian lands, adding that first, Israel must disarm.
"Israel says that civilians live in the Jewish settlements in Palestine," he added. "In reality, they are not civilians as they live in occupied Palestinian lands."
Mashaal also stressed that the population of Gaza, which has been subjected to Israeli aggression, has the right of self-defense.
