By Elmira Tariverdiyeva - Trend:

"Israel-Our Home" party seeks to change the country's legislation so that to increase the income of pensioners who, like the considerable part of those repatriated from the former USSR in 1990s, couldn't save up enough money for a deserved pension, said Israel's new Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman in an exclusive interview with Trend.

"Our reform restores justice for elderly repatriates. But it is not of sectoral nature and applies to all categories of the population regardless of their place of birth, country of origin and the date of repatriation," he said.

Lieberman pointed out that the criterion here is the financial situation, but not the country of origin.

"But given that there are more repatriates among the pensioners who couldn't earn enough for a deserved pension, this reform first of all meets the interests of the Russian-speaking community," he added.
