The eight Bayern Munich players in Germany's provisional Euro 2012 squad will miss Saturday's tune-up match in Switzerland and get an additional day off after their Champions League meltdown, team leaders decided on Tuesday, dpa reported.

The Bayern players led by captain Philipp Lahm and midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who missed the deciding penalty in the shoot-out defeat against Chelsea in their home stadium, will fly to the camp in southern France late Saturday instead of featuring in the game in Basel the same day.

Assistant coach Hansi Flick said that the full 27-player squad will train for the first time on Monday as all players will go to watch the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix on Sunday.

Flick also said that forward Miroslav Klose is to return from back problems to training on Wednesday and will play in Basel if healthy.

Coach Joachim Loew has to nominate his final 23-player squad by May 29. Germany face the Netherlands, Denmark and Portugal in a difficult group at the tournament in Poland and Ukraine which is played from June 8 until July 1.
