Floods caused by torrential rains and landslides killed at least 20 people in different parts of Nepal during a three day period, RIA Novosti reported with reference to Kathmandu Post newspaper

Hundreds of people escaping from the disaster, were forced to flee their homes. The authorities say the death toll could still rise. According to the newspaper, 'a lot of people' are missing.

On Wednesday, a helicopter of the domestic airline Fishtail Air crashed in Humla district during an aid operation in the landslide zone, nepalnews.com portal reported. There were six people on board, including one Italian. Three got injured, one of them - seriously.

The floods and landslides also led to serious consequences in a number of northern districts of India bordering Nepal. Between 130 and 150 people died there according to various estimates, many are missing.
