Dutch experts find remains at MH17 crash site

Dutch specialists found remains of victims at the Flight MH17 crash site in Ukraine, TASS reported referring to the head of the recovery mission, Peter Jap Albersberg's statement.

Experts worked for a fifth day in the past two weeks. During the search, more remains were found at the site where a fire broke out after the plane crash. Locals also handed over two identity cards of victims, he said.

Remains and belongings of victims are brought to Kharkov where first forensic examination is organized. After examination, the remains and things will be taken to the Netherlands.

The head of the recovery group said experts in close cooperation with OSCE mission members used every possibility to get to the crash site. However, everything depends on security. Some progress has been achieved, but the situation remains unstable, and because of this, further steps are not planned.

The situation is monitored every day, and when it is possible, there is no delay, he said.

An international mission of Australian, Dutch and Malaysian experts to recover remains and personal things of victims worked for less than a week in early August and had to stop the operation for safety reasons. The search resumed, but not in full, only two weeks ago.

The Malaysia Airlines Boeing on Flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed near Donetsk in eastern Ukraine on July 17 this year. All the people on board, 298 people, died. Most of them, 193 people, were citizens of the Netherlands.
