Kenyan authorities on Sunday revealed the identity of one of the terrorists who attacked Garisa University college and killed 148 people on Thursday.

The spokesman in the Ministry of Interior Mwenda Njoka named Abdirahim Abdullahi, the son of a Mandera chief, as one of the four terrorist. He was also a law graduate from the University of Nairobi.

Abdullahi was positively identified by family and friends. He disappeared from Kenya in 2013. His father reported to authorities that his son had gone missing and suspected he crossed into Somalia to join Al-Shabaab militants.

According to Njoka, Abdullahi's father said he did know his son's whereabouts since he disappeared from Kenya. Relatives who spoke to media on condition of anonymity said Abdullahi was in his late 20s and had previously not displayed violent behavior.
